Roland Emmerich has made a ton of disaster movies over the years and has blown a bunch of buildings up (on the screen.) But the movie that really put him on the map and turned into a classic is the 1996 movie Independence Day starring Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum. The movie was extremely popular, but definitely raises some questions. Like how did nobody spot a massive ship until it reached the moon? Why did aliens choose landmarks?
